I'm sure there are some of you who visit this shrine who have no idea what Sailormoon is. This section is just a brief introduction to the manga series that Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon graced with her presence.

Bishoujo Senshi Sailormoon (美少女戦士セーラームーン) is a "magical girl" manga series created by Naoko Takeuchi. It lasted for five series (Sailormoon, Sailormoon R, Sailormoon S, Sailormoon SuperS, and Sailormoon Sailor Stars) and 18 volumes. Sailor Heavy Metal Papillon appeared in volume 18, act 49, which is in the Sailor Stars Series. In the reprint edition (Pretty Guardian Sailormoon), Papillon's appearance is again in the final volume, this time volume 12.

A basic summary of the overall plot is Usagi Tsukino is an ordinary girl who finds out she is the reincarnation of the princess of the Moon kingdom. She fights evil as Sailormoon with the help of the other senshi (one for pretty much every planet). She also is helped out by Tuxedo Kamen, who in real life is Mamoru Chiba, her boyfriend and future husband.

In the final arc of the story Galaxia, a Sailorsenshi of an unknown planet, travels throughout the universe taking the Sailor Crystals from each and every Sailorsenshi. Sailor Crystals are unique to those senshi born to protect their planet, and are the ultimate source of their power. Some senshi chose to serve her and are spared their lives, others have their powers taken by Galaxia and given to another person more willing to serve. These "fake" Sailorsenshi are known as the Animamates.

Galaxia's forces prove to be devastating and the heroes suffers heavy casualties. But still Sailormoon presses on with the help of Sailorkakyuu and Sailorchibichibi, and they manage to make it to Zero Star Sagittarius where Galaxia is. Except on the way they find themselves at a graveyard where a senshi with butterfly wings waits for them...
